01What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Browsers also offer localStorage, which holds data on your device but is never transmitted with a request. Both are ways of remembering something between page loads, and the DPDP Act treats what they hold as personal data when it can identify you. This page covers both, because describing only cookies would leave out most of what this site actually uses.

02This site sets no cookies of its own

Aizzentec.com is a static site. It issues no Set-Cookie header, and nothing in its own code writes a cookie. What it writes is a handful of first-party localStorage and sessionStorage entries, all readable only by this site. The true cookies you may encounter here belong to Google Analytics, to LinkedIn and to Meta, and they exist only if you have affirmatively allowed the category that governs them. If you have not, the script that would set them is never fetched, so there is nothing to set them.

03Three categories, and only three

Strictly necessary covers what the site needs to work at all: remembering the language you chose, remembering your answers to the consent questions so you are not asked again on every page, keeping your place in an interactive checklist, and remembering which advertisement brought you here so that an enquiry you send can be attributed to it. These cannot be switched off, because switching them off would break the feature you asked for. Analytics covers measurement of how the site is used. There is no social media category, because this site embeds nothing from one.

04How consent works here

Analytics and marketing are both denied by default. Nothing is measured, no advertising script is fetched, and no third-party cookie is written, until you press a button that says so. That is Section 6 of the DPDP Act: consent has to be a clear affirmative action, and an unanswered question is not one. The two are separate toggles because they are separate purposes — allowing measurement is not agreeing to be advertised to. Refusing is one click in the same row as accepting, at the same size. Section 6(4) requires withdrawing to be as easy as giving, which is why the control below and the one in the footer are on every page.

_ga and _ga_*CookieAnalytics
Set by Google Analytics 4 to tell repeat visits apart and count sessions. Written only after you allow analytics; before that the script is never fetched. IP addresses are anonymised.
Lifetime: Up to two years, set by Google. Deleting them in your browser removes them immediately.
aizzentec:debuglocalStorageStrictly necessary
Written only if you put ?debug=1 in the address bar yourself. It turns on verbose console tracing so a problem with a form can be diagnosed on the machine where it happens. It records which fields a submission carried and whether each had content — never what you typed. Remove it with ?debug=0.

Set once, after you confirm a newsletter subscription, so that reloading the confirmation page or pressing Back does not resubmit it. The value is a short non-reversible hash of the link’s token, not the token itself, and never leaves your browser.

Your answer to the advertising question, stored as the single word granted or denied. Kept separately from your analytics answer because they are separate decisions: allowing us to measure how the site is used is not the same as agreeing to be shown our ads elsewhere.

The campaign parameters that were on the address you arrived at — utm_source, utm_campaign and the like — plus the page you landed on and the site that linked to you. It lets us tell which advertisement produced an enquiry. It stays in this tab, is sent nowhere unless you submit a form, and travels only as one more field of the message you chose to send us.
Lifetime: Until you close the tab. sessionStorage is discarded when the browsing session ends.

06Changing your choice

Open the preferences dialog below, or use the Cookie preferences control in the footer of any page. Turning analytics off stops further collection immediately. To remove what is already on your device, delete this site’s cookies and site data in your browser — the option sits in its privacy or history settings.
